Day 1 Juice: 5 leaves of kale, 2 stalks celery, 1 cucumber, 2 green apples, 1 grapefruit, small piece of ginger
Notes: I am a vegetarian but normally consume dairy and eggs. During my detox I am only eating a (vegan) plant based diet and also cutting out all refined foods, sugars and coffee (my BIG weakness). The first week I am cutting out my off limits foods completely and introducing fresh juice. I will be eating 3 vegan meals a day plus juicing but after the first week I will replace one of my meals with more juice or a smoothie. I plan to detox for at least 30 days but may extend it longer depending on how I feel at my 30th day. If I can I would love to do 60 days. We’ll see!
I will try to photograph and upload pictures of my meals and my juice ingredients as often as possible, but will post something everyday about my experiences with the process. If you have any questions let me know, I would love to talk to you.
My ultimate goal is to reduce my coffee consumption, increase my energy and regulate my sleeping habits. Any weight loss will be a bonus though I don’t have a goal or specific expectation for that. I have done this detox before last year and felt wonderful after 30 days. I had energy, stable moods, was sleeping great and lost 20lbs. I look forward to similar results this time. Wish me luck! ^^

Fried Courgette Flowers
At our friend’s farm in South Australia. Courgettes in flower from their bio-dynamic garden. Batter was made with flour and soda water. Flowers and small, young courgettes rolled in flour before dipping in the batter and shallow frying.
